A Tuscan Dream: Kari and Jacopo's Intimate Italian-American Backyard Wedding

Kari & Jacopo I Grandparent’s Backyard Wedding in Tuscany

When an Italian-American couple, Kari and Jacopo, reached out to me with their wedding plans, I knew I was in for something truly special. They had decided to tie the knot in the groom's grandparent's backyard, located in a quaint village close to Florence, Tuscany.

The vision was clear – an intimate wedding with a handful of close friends, simple yet elegant decor, and the stunning presence of olive trees in every direction. As residents of Florence, they were determined to create an emotional and authentic wedding experience, and I was incredibly thrilled and nervous at the same time, because they gave me not just the creative freedom but most importantly, their trust. Also, they both were photographers, which made it even worse for me :D

Anyway, it was my first time visiting this part of Italy and I've couldn't believe, how beautiful the land and the wedding place is. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, in the beautiful garden of Jacopo's grandparents' house on the hill overlooking the Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore was a charming backdrop for their heartfelt celebration. The groom's grandparent's backyard had an old-world charm that perfectly complemented the couple's desire for authenticity and intimacy. And the olive trees, with their timeless symbolism of peace and love? Oh, c’mon, that was almost too much yet perfect in the best possible way.

Kari and Jacopo's ceremony was a testament to the love they shared. With just a few close friends as witnesses, the atmosphere was filled with love, laughter, and raw emotion. Their decision to keep the guest list small allowed them to create an intimate, and personal experience. I was really happy that Kari and Jocopos’s dedication to authenticity extended to every aspect of their wedding. The decor was intentionally simple, allowing the natural beauty of the location to shine a I must admit, their commitment to creating a genuine, and emotional experience was a true inspiration for me.

As wedding videographer, I’m privileged to be a part of many people special days so i know wedding details can sometimes overshadow the essence of the day so I’d love to encourage all couples to embrace their unique style.

Whether you dream of a grand event or an intimate gathering, remember to stay true to yourselves. Focus on what truly matters, and don't let unnecessary details steal the spotlight. Ultimately, it's the love you share and the present moment you enjoy that make your wedding day unforgettable.
